About the company

CES is an internationally leading manufacturer of locking systems and electronic access control systems. The company was founded in 1840.

Based in Velbert, CES pioneered the industrial production of locking cylinders in Germany.  When Carl Eduard Schulte took over the firm from his father in 1857, he named it “C.Ed.Schulte Zylinderschloßfabrik” or CES in short.  Under this name, the company established its national and international reputation as a specialist for reliable security systems. 

At its Velbert location, the company produces locking systems for international distribution.
